Moeen Counselling Centre was founded in 1999 by Dr Bahman Bahmani, who holds a PhD in counselling and is an associate professor at the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences in Tehran.
Moeen is licensed as a “Specialist Centre for Premarital Counselling and Family Strengthening” by the Psychology and Counselling Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran and by Iran’s Ministry of Sport and Youth, and provides specialist counselling and psychological services.
What Moeen Counselling Centre offers
Working with a team of leading specialists and university teachers of counselling and psychology, the centre offers specialist services in the following areas:
Psychological difficulties, family therapy, couples therapy, premarital counselling, group therapy, psychological support for people with chronic and serious illness, rehabilitation counselling, educational counselling and learning difficulties, psychological assessment, and a specialist biofeedback and neurofeedback unit.
To promote the mental health of the wider community, Moeen Counselling and Psychological Services Centre also runs psychoeducational courses with trusted, distinguished teachers, shaped around people’s different needs. They build the skills to adapt to life’s many situations: marriage, parenting, childhood and adolescence, work, grief, moving home or changing circumstances, study, and caring for older people, the seriously ill and people with disabilities.
The centre is also a specialist, professional provider of psychotherapist training. These courses are for students and professionals in counselling, psychology and psychiatry. Its therapist-training courses and specialist workshops cover counselling with cognitive–existential approaches, cognitive therapy, cognitive–existential therapy, Gestalt, schema therapy and ACT. Every course carries a recognised certificate approved by the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences or the Psychology and Counselling Organization of Iran.
The centre is also ready to work with institutions, educational centres and schools. At Moeen, experienced specialists in rehabilitation counselling provide rehabilitation counselling for people with serious, hard-to-treat illnesses and for those who care for them.
